Town and Village

VFC encourages area residents to join us in attending the various town and village meetings. To that end, we are posting the schedule below. We encourage residents to send us personal comments and observations about these local meetings; we will be glad to publish them on our web site in order to promote public dialogue about public business.

Saranac Lake Village: All meetings are held at the Village Office (next to the police station) at 7 PM.

These are public meetings and anybody is welcome.

Planning Board Meeting - Wednesday 1/18/06

Agenda:

A businessman has bought land opposite the Turtle Pond Rd in Saranac Lake and wants to dig into the sand esker along Route 86 on the Will Rogers side to put in a quick lube operation. This will involve cutting the large pines that line the road as you enter Saranac Lake, digging into a large sandbank ?(stability), creating a traffic problem, and a number of other implications from drainage and runoff to noise and light issues etc. Not to mention coming as close as two feet from the Historic Will Rogers property.
